Immersion in a video is the goal of every creator. When a viewer gets lost in a world in front of them, you know you have done your job well. But every now and then a little puff of air from an actor straight into the mic can throw you off. It’s one of those sounds that just irks you and easily distorts a recording. To fix a problem like this in videos and music, Accusonus released the Plosive Remover for their users to fix any such problems in their content.
There are many companies that work with audio restoration. Accusonus is relatively new to the scene having been started in 2013, but that does not mean anything in the quality of their work. Their plugins and products go above and beyond what many expect them to do. I myself have relied on them on multiple occasions and will in the future as well. Over time we will be looking at all of the Accusonus Era Bundle components, both Pro and Standard, as well as the Bundle itself. Each review will be linked to each other for easy comparisons and learning so check back to learn more.
Quicklook at Accusonus Era 5 Bundle
How We Reviewed the Accusonus Plosive Remover
We really wanted to see how well the Plosive Remover would do with a lot of pops and puffs straight into the mic and it held up beautifully. Below you will see the key features that make up this plugin. It does come in both the Standard and Pro Era 5 bundles. However, it only has one version, so whichever bundle you pick you will have the same level of Plosive Remover processing.
This plugin is just another key part of the Accusonus Audio Repair kit. On its own, it is a fantastic tool to remove unwanted puffs and pops in your recordings, but when it is paired with other components of the Era bundle, you have the perfect audio repair suite.
Processing Dial – The key feature in any Accusonus plugin is simplicity. With their single-dial method you don’t have much wiggle room for controls, but anyone, whether they have audio editing experience or not, can get a better sound with this.
Mode – So there are 2 modes available on the Plosive Remover for you to use. There is the Normal mode and the Extreme mode. There are many instances where either could be used so the decision is best left up to your own ears.
Accusonus made their product compatible with as many DAWs and video editors as they possibly could. You can use their products on Pro Tools, Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Reaper, Adobe Audition, Logic, Audacity, and so many more.
|Format||AU, VST, AAX Native (64-bit)||VST, AAX Native (64-bit)|

All Accusonus plugins come to you digitally through their own installer that you can download for free.
Accusonus only offers all of their restoration plugins in bundles. As we have mentioned before there are 2 types of bundles they offer, the Pro Plan, and the Standard Plan. However, they do give you 3 options to purchase them. You can pay for a monthly subscription, prepay for an annual subscription (which saves you money), or purchase the perpetual license.

The Order of Things
When you use the Era Bundle to clean up your audio, the order in which you apply them is actually very important. The Noise Remover is definitely the first one you would want to apply followed by the Plosive Remover. The reason for this is that you want to have the cleanest audio before you begin adding in effects like the Voice Deepener to enhance the audio afterward. Experiment with your options and see what order you like to use best. Maybe you like using a different order for a voice-over than you do for a live video. Perhaps the order should be different for a woman’s voice than a man’s. Experimentation and exploration are key parts of the mixing process.
